A very special word of appreciation to all who participated in our annual Giving Tree to help those in need. Your awesome generosity came to fruition with gift cards amounting to $8,190! We'll be able to give 13 families a joyous Christmas, by helping 8 families from our parish and an additional 5 families at St. Luke's Mission of Mercy. A season that could otherwise be very bleak is made quite bright by people eager to sacrifice some of the blessings they have received. Thank you for your generous spirit!
Every Tuesday after the daily 10am Mass, our Bible Study Group at Saint Timothy Parish meets in St. Martha's Chapel in our church. Getting involved to study God's Word can enrich our faith and our lives as Christians. "Let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another." Hebrews 10:24-25. Come join us!
Fr. Roy Herberger’s Nativity Sets exhibit is available on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-4 pm from now until January 8th (except Christmas and New Year’s weekends) at Our Lady of Victory Basilica (lower level), 767 Ridge Rd., Lackawanna. This unique collection features Nativity sets from around the world! Honoring the Nativity has been a traditional part of the Advent and Christmas season for hundreds of years. The tradition began in the year 1223 when St. Francis of Assisi assembled the first nativity scene on Christmas Eve near Greccio, Italy. He was holding a Christmas service and Mass inside of a cave and he wanted to focus on the true meaning of Christmas. Don't miss this once-a-year opportunity to view and enjoy this beautiful collection of nativity sets!
The Parish Giving Tree has been set up in St. Martha's Chapel to help those in need. We're requesting gift cards from Tops, Wegmans, Walmart, Target, Aldi, Amazon, and others. You may also donate new hats, gloves, scarves, and socks for those in need. This year, our donations will benefit families from St. Luke's Mission of Mercy, Sheridan Parkside Community Center, and Ladies of Charity. Please return your donation as soon as possible to ensure timely delivery to families. Thank you for your generosity!

So much has changed since the founding of Catholic Charities in 1923, but one thing has remained a constant: just as we have for 99 years, Catholic Charities is here and ready to help – now. If you have an urgent need or you or your family is facing a crisis situation, please give us a call or visit www.ccwny.org to complete an online assistance form. Help and HOPE are available.

Synod Voices continue to be heard. Earlier this year our diocese participated in the worldwide Synod called for by Pope Francis. Now the results from ALL of the dioceses in the US have been consolidated and are available at the USCCB website: usccb.org/resources/us-national-synthesis-2021-2023-synod We encourage you to read this extraordinary document and notice how so many of the same comments throughout the country match the results of our own Diocesan Listening Session.
An old Irish proverb says "It is in the shelter of each other that the people live." Indeed, we are created to depend upon one another and walk together in suffering. But when family members or friends approach life's end, we may not know how best to "shelter" them. For some concrete ways we can compassionately care for them, please visit usccb.org/end-of-life-care

No gift to Appeal 2022 is too small. In fact, each dollar raised during the annual Appeal leverages an additional $3 to $4 of government support and contracts. More funding means more services for those in need, like affordable and accessible mental health counseling and basic needs assistance like food and clothing. Your donation helps strengthen and empower thousands of individuals and families across the eight counties of Western New York. To make a donation today, visit www.ccwny.org/donate or text GIVEHOPE22 to 44321. If you need help, go to www.ccwny.org/services or call 716-218-1419 or the office in your area. Thank you.

There is no greater time to be a priest in Buffalo! Be part of the renewal and help shape the future of our diocese - as a priest! It's a redefining moment, as the Road To Renewal builds up steam and the Pilot Parish-Families begin their work. The Road To Renewal will bring many changes to the life of our diocesan priests: more fraternity with brother priests, more community in working together, and new styles of collaboration with deacons and lay ministers. If you hear the call to "Put out into the deep water..." (Luke 5:4), please email [email protected] or call 716-847-5540.
In addition to supporting Catholic Charities, Appeal 2022 also benefits the Fund for the Faith. Established in 1937 by Bishop John Duffy out of concern for those in need of spiritual comfort due to hardships of the Great Depression, the Fund for the Faith continues to provide spiritual nourishment throughout our diocese today. Proceeds provide ministry support services that are instrumental to the vitality of our faith experience and enable us to more effectively spread the Gospel message of Christ’s love. With the pandemic ongoing, donations to the Fund for the Faith are more important than ever as we extend comfort to all of God’s people – our family, friends and neighbors alike. Please support Catholic Charities and the Fund for the Faith by visiting www.ccwny.org/donation or text GIVEHOPE22 to 44321 today. Thank you.
