Pope Francis’ Midnight Mass will begin at 1:30pm our local time (7:30pm in Rome). That's 2 hours earlier this year to accommodate one of Italy’s coronavirus measures: a curfew which requires people to be at home between the hours of 10pm and 5am unless going to or from work. Another novelty in 2020 is that Pope Francis will give the Christmas Day “Urbi et Orbi” blessing at 6am our local time (12pm in Rome) from St. Peter’s Basilica this year and not from the loggia on the church’s facade which overlooks the square where he typically delivers the address.
