The Medjugorje International Youth Festival, or "Mladifest", has been attracting young pilgrims since the year 2000 to this small town which is site of the reported Marian Apparitions which originated in 1981. Each August, up to 50,000 young people and 500 priests visit Medjugorje, rosaries in hand, for a festival full of prayer, music, confession, adoration, candle light processions, and pilgrimage. The festival is held in August to mark the birthday of the Blessed Virgin Mary on August 5th as claimed by the visionaries of the apparitions. Medjugorje is a small village in Bosnia & Herzegovina that has been welcoming millions of pilgrims since Our Lady’s first apparitions here 40 years ago to 6 local children. In Her messages, Our Lady often asks us to pray for peace, and to pray the rosary. To learn more about the festival and recent news of Medjugorje, you can visit https://www.medjugorje.hr/en/
