If you are a Eucharistic Minister here at St. Timothy's and would be willing to visit home-bound parishioners to administer Holy Communion, please call the rectory. We are in need of your help. Thank you.
No gift to Appeal 2022 is too small. In fact, each dollar raised during the annual Appeal leverages an additional $3 to $4 of government support and contracts. More funding means more services for those in need, like affordable and accessible mental health counseling and basic needs assistance like food and clothing. Your donation helps strengthen and empower thousands of individuals and families across the eight counties of Western New York. To make a donation today, visit www.ccwny.org/donate or text GIVEHOPE22 to 44321. If you need help, go to www.ccwny.org/services or call 716-218-1419 or the office in your area. Thank you.
The St. Timothy Parish Ladies of Charity are requesting donations of any new baby items to be given to the various places that help expectant mothers. There will also be baby bottles for donations of loose change which will be given to Harvest House. Donations will be accepted until Sunday, April 24th. Please place donations in the playpen in St. Martha's Chapel. Thank you!
There is no greater time to be a priest in Buffalo! Be part of the renewal and help shape the future of our diocese - as a priest! It's a redefining moment, as the Road To Renewal builds up steam and the Pilot Parish-Families begin their work. The Road To Renewal will bring many changes to the life of our diocesan priests: more fraternity with brother priests, more community in working together, and new styles of collaboration with deacons and lay ministers. If you hear the call to "Put out into the deep water..." (Luke 5:4), please email dbaker@buffalodiocese.org or call 716-847-5540.
In addition to supporting Catholic Charities, Appeal 2022 also benefits the Fund for the Faith. Established in 1937 by Bishop John Duffy out of concern for those in need of spiritual comfort due to hardships of the Great Depression, the Fund for the Faith continues to provide spiritual nourishment throughout our diocese today. Proceeds provide ministry support services that are instrumental to the vitality of our faith experience and enable us to more effectively spread the Gospel message of Christ’s love. With the pandemic ongoing, donations to the Fund for the Faith are more important than ever as we extend comfort to all of God’s people – our family, friends and neighbors alike. Please support Catholic Charities and the Fund for the Faith by visiting www.ccwny.org/donation or text GIVEHOPE22 to 44321 today. Thank you.
We are looking for new altar servers for weekend Masses! If you're in the 3rd grade or older and you would like to serve in this special ministry, we would love to have you! This ministry allows the youth of our parish to get involved and contribute to the Liturgy of the Mass by serving others. Training will be provided. If interested, please call the rectory at 875-9430.
A very special word of appreciation to all who participated in our annual Giving Tree to help those in need. Your generosity came to fruition with gift cards amounting to $7,690! We'll be able to give 8 families a joyous Christmas from Saint Timothy Parish, as well as donations to Little Portion Friary for the purchase of shirts, socks, and sweat pants for the homeless, and we helped an additional 5 families at St. Luke's Mission of Mercy. Thanks again for your generous spirit!
The St. Timothy Parish Ladies of Charity would like to thank everyone who supported the "Pennies for Pillows Drive"! With your generosity, we collected $535! The pillows and pillow cases will be distributed to those in need and making a fresh start. As always, your support is greatly appreciated!
A gentle reminder that masks are required when entering and leaving the church, during Mass, when approaching the altar area, and when visiting the rectory. Thank you for your cooperation!
As we prepare for our new organ, we need to make some changes to our choir loft. Presently, there are 2 dark wooden pews remaining (4 have been already purchased!) in the loft which we'll need to replace with chairs. These pews are available for purchase. Each pew is 10 feet long, and we're asking $200 per pew. Proceeds will be used toward the purchase of our new organ. If you or anyone you know is interested in purchasing one or more, please call the rectory at 716-875-9430. Thank you!
All of us have heard the expression: "Nothing lasts forever", and how true that is. Presently our Church Organ is in need of major repairs. You may have noticed some "sour notes" and at times it cannot be turned "on" and "off" when needed. This organ is about 27 years old and is showing its age. Unfortunately, the company that installed it is no longer in business here in the United States and there is no one available to make repairs which are needed. Therefore, we will be in need of purchasing a new organ. This is certainly an unexpected expense. Our choir has agreed to begin some fundraising for a new instrument which will cost about $60,000. The Second Vatican Council maintained that the “organ is to be held in high esteem, for it is the traditional musical instrument which adds a wonderful splendor to the Church’s ceremonies and powerfully lifts up our minds and hearts to God and to higher things!” For all in our parish community who would like to contribute to make our new organ a reality, your donations would be greatly appreciated. Envelopes for donations are at the entrances of the church and chapel. "Buy a Key" or "Buy a Pedal" with a suggested donation of $200 per key/pedal. Thus far, we have collected approximately $31,000. Thank you for your generosity!
When looking at the future, there are many paths a person can choose. Sometimes individuals feel called to the priesthood, religious life, or other service within the Church but may not know how to get more information. Are you sensing the Call from God? It's never too soon to contact the Office of Vocations. No question is too trivial. Find out more about vocations at www.buffalovocations.org
Mass Intentions are available for the remainder of 2021, and 2022, calendar years. Please contact the Rectory at 716-875-9430 on Tuesdays, between 9:30am-2:30pm to reserve your Mass dates and times.
Congratulations to our St. Timothy Faith Formation students who received the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time on Sunday, March 1st: Hayden Marzullo, Evan Mee, Carina Newell, Lawson Sawyer, and Logan Sawyer! May they always seek the forgiveness and love of our merciful God as they continue on their journey of faith. Please remember them and their wonderful families in your prayers!
